Frequently asked questions

Is every restaurant on Halaled fully halal?

No — and that's deliberate. We list fully halal restaurants and restaurants with halal options, clearly labelled. You can filter for a full halal menu, and the label always names its source.

Who decides a restaurant is halal?

Not us. We publish attributed claims: a certification body, the restaurant's own statement, or a halal directory listing — in that order of strength. See How we verify.

What does "last reviewed" mean?

The date a person at Halaled last confirmed the listing's halal status against its evidence.

A restaurant's details are wrong. What do I do?

Contact us with the restaurant name and what's changed. We aim to respond within 48 hours, and halal-related reports take priority.

Do restaurants pay to be listed or featured?

Listing is free and unpaid. Featured spots are editorial choices; payment never changes a halal label.

How do I get my restaurant listed (or removed)?

Contact us with your restaurant's details and evidence of halal status — certification or a public statement. Owners can also ask for corrections or removal.

Why did a restaurant's halal label change?

Menus and certifications change. When our monitoring or a reader report flags a halal-relevant change, we pull the label back to "under review" until a person re-verifies it.

Do you list restaurants that serve alcohol?

Yes, clearly labelled ("serves alcohol"). Many of our users are fine with it; many aren't. The label lets you decide. A venue serving alcohol is never labelled "fully halal".
